How did you get into art?

“I grew up in a very Christian home. When I first got into rap music, the language was unacceptable in my household, but I was quickly growing passionate about music, and I wasn't going to let that stop me. The first thing I got into was a free program called Audacity. I found a way to clean the cuss words out of music and started my first endeavor, a short lived YouTube channel where I posted the cleaned songs. I started to play around with sounds in Audacity, making cheap edits of my favorite songs, and started a new YouTube channel. I moved on to making beats. FL Studio was confusing at first... the first time I saw it, I uninstalled, and waited another 6 months til I began producing. Things moved quickly and my passion grew. I got into DJ'ing. I was never the best beat maker; I had a tendency of stacking on too many instruments, and loved doing cinematic work more. I moved on to producing EDM. In somewhat of a freak accident, I scored a manager, who I played a last second gig for at Hedges after the original DJ flaked. Today, I make EDM and rap mixes, and do work for independent films.”

Where does your inspiration come from?

“I love the strange. My greatest musical inspirations are a melting pot of my favorite trendsetters from every genre. Some of my favorite artists / bands are Frank Ocean, Massive Attack, King Krule, Bad Bunny, Virtual Riot, and Playboi Carti... an odd mixture, but they end up in the same playlists.”

Did you go to art school?

“No, I never thought it was necessary.”

Any tips or tricks or advice that you would like to share with readers?

“The majority of the music you make probably isn't good enough to be released. 90% of my tracks never see the light of day. Also, the mix is crucial. Test your music on headphones, off the phone, on big speakers, in the car, with a subwoofer, etc. And always be prepared for your big moment, because it will happen without warning.”

What is your biggest artistic accomplishment and how did you achieve this?

“Getting my management that led me to the craziest gigs I've ever been blessed enough to play. Preparation is key. I cancelled all of my plans and took a last minute set, an hour til playing at the biggest bar in Athens, but I always had sets ready for situations such as this.”

What are your future aspirations?

“I just want to share my ideas with the world. Whether that be through successful music or a DJ career, I want to be on a stage. I love to perform.”

If you could relay a message to your younger self, what would it say? If you could have done things differently, would you?

“Never stop working on your music. The gaps I took in my art were crucial in crippling my progress. I wish I never took the hiatus I did.”

Do you have anything you wish to share? Something you wished people knew about you or your art?

“Your music and your life coincide. I assume it's the same way with art. Let the things that hurt you, that make you happy, that make you sad, that make you angry, bleed onto your canvas, whatever it may be.”
